German Academic Exchange Service DAAD is an indepent organization, publicly funded by higher education institutions in Germany. DAAD supports over 100,000 students and researchers worldwide annually, promoting international education through initiatives that enhance German university global competitiveness and development efforts in countries with emerging higher education systems.
RISE Scholarships are offered under DAAD for undergraduate students from the United States, Canada, and the UK studying science and engineering at universities across Germany. This summer internship program lasts 2 to 3 months during the summer season, providing unique opportunities for bachelor's degree holders to collaborate with doctoral researchers in German institutions.
Eligibility Criteria:
US or Canadian citizens are eligible; non-USCanadian citizens can find scholarships by visiting DAAD's database and selecting their country of citizenship.
Open to all academic disciplines.
Undergraduate must be enrolled full-time or graduate student applicants.
Individuals residing in Germany for over 15 months at the application deadline are ineligible.
RISE scholarship recipients must return to full-time studies at their home university after completing the internship. No prior knowledge of German language required.
